Are credits the same as messages?
Think of 1 credit as a simple text-only message. Simpler requests use less, more complex ones use more — all from the same balance.
Do images and web search use credits too?
Yes. More complex requests — long prompts, files, images, web search, or multi-step tasks — use additional credits. Nothing is billed separately; it all comes from your credit balance.
Is the Polymath BFN™ Calculator included in my plan?
Yes. The Polymath BFN™ Calculator is included with every active plan at no extra cost — open it straight from the navigation bar, no second app and no separate login. Free members can use it while their trial credits last; after that, choose a plan to keep access.
Does the Polymath BFN™ Calculator use credits?
No. Running calculations does not draw from your credit balance. Credits are only used when you talk to the ORION Architect — including when OA references your BFN data inside a conversation.
How does the free trial work?
Every member starts with 60 trial credits for OA. They never expire — use them at your own pace. When they're done, choose a plan to continue; messaging always stays free and nothing you've shared is lost. These credits do not roll over to a subscription — if you subscribe without using them, they will be gone.
When do credits reset?
Subscription credits reset at the start of each billing period. Trial credits are different — they're a one-time 60-credit allowance that never expires and doesn't reset. You can check your current usage anytime with /usage.
Do unused credits roll over?
Subscription credits do not roll over. They reset each billing period.
What happens if I run out before the period ends?
On a subscription, you can top up instantly with add-on credits from the Payments tab, upgrade your plan, or wait until your credits reset. On the free trial, choosing a plan is the way to continue — your conversations are saved and waiting.
Can I buy extra credits without changing my plan?
Yes — add-on credits let you top up any time from the Payments tab. They activate automatically when your monthly plan credits run out and are valid for 12 months from purchase. Available on Standard, Pro, Pro+, and Premium plans. Add-on credits are only available with an active subscription — if you cancel your subscription, you will not have access to them until you resubscribe.
Can I switch from monthly to yearly mid-cycle?
Yes — you'll be charged a pro-rated difference for the remainder of the period, and yearly billing starts immediately. You can change anytime from Manage plan.
Can I downgrade my yearly plan?
Any updates to a yearly subscription will not take place until the subscription ends. We do not offer refunds of any kind.
